We are a North Texas company
Jurassic Properties is owned by brothers Flent Ballantyne and William Ballantyne. They have been serving North Texas since 2001. Their goal is to provide expertise and individual attention to those who need or want to sell a house or other property quickly. Unlike most companies that advertise to buy your house and are really more interested in selling your information to a possible house buyer, Jurassic Properties wants to deal with you directly and buy your property at a fair price, quickly and save you the time, effort, and money required to renovate your property and list it for sale.
Flent Ballantyne
Flent Ballantyne grew up as the oldest of five boys on a small farm. Growing up, he learned the value of work and doing whatever it takes to get the job done right. Sometimes that meant working 12 and 13 hour days during the hot summer months when things were the busiest. In 1982 he moved to Denton, TX to pursue a music degree at UNT’s School of Music. Later he met his beautiful wife, Laurie and started a family. Flent chose a career in home design and for fifteen years worked with companies like Haverty’s Fine Furniture and the Thomasville Design Galleries. For personal enjoyment, Flent directed his church choir and participated in an occasional musical production. Life was good for the Ballantynes’; until Laurie died seven years later, giving birth to their third son. To make matters worse the life insurance company refused to pay their claim. In the face of overwhelming and escalating debt, created by an additional $1700 a month in child care expenses, Flent filed suit against the insurance company. Five long years later, the insurance company finally paid the claim. After paying off his debts, Flent started Jurassic. It was a perfect fit and an opportunity to help others, many going through the same kind of challenges he had survived. A year later, to keep up with the growing responsibilities and to provide the service his customers and sellers deserved he asked his brother Bill to be his partner. Bill is a natural leader and the one you go to, to organize a big job and get it done right.
William Ballantyne
Bill has always wanted to be an entrepreneur. On his family’s farm, he grew up learning the satisfaction and challenges of owning your own business. As a boy, Bill looked forward to the day when he would take over the farm. When his father decided to retire early and liquidate the business, due to health reasons, Bill had to make a change in his plans. Working for other farmers in his area, he was trusted with great responsibility at a young age and developed valuable management skills. Bill is very goal-oriented and started checking off his list of lifetime goals early on. In fact, at the age of nineteen, Bill volunteered to serve a two-year mission for his church where he decided to dedicate his life to helping others. After serving as a missionary, he moved to Las Vegas for a career in construction. He started out as the “low man on the totem pole”. His tool box had only one tool: a shovel. Four years later, he was the project manager for the same company. While in Vegas, Bill found a pretty little dancer (ballroom dancer, that is) and fell in love. They were married and now have two boys and another one on the way. Bill says and believes that his first purpose in life is to honor, protect and love his wife and family. When his brother, Flent, a sharp businessman, asked him to be his partner at Jurassic, it was the perfect opportunity for Bill to further accomplish his goals and help others in difficult situations. Bill is extremely determined to work until the job gets done, fulfilling the needs of each individual client.
